Greatest Games v1 (ZX81 MIA)

  1. Yet another great find for the 81, nice to see these titles preserved. from Flange.

  2. Tried running this and instead of the many games on the list it only loads and lists one, the pacman clone. Is there a problem with this? From Flange.

    1. After loading the fist game, without closing the emulator or ejecting the tape, do a reset and type load "" again. Hope it helps :)

  3. Fascinating. It's great to see these lost and retrieved items from Work Force.

The matter of Minefield appearing twice is interesting, because in fact the two versions are not quite indentical. The first one is the one that I think should be there, as it's very slightly more polished: it displays a brief opening credit screen when it first loads, and then the main screen has a centred name-credit for the author at the top. In the other version, although the game appears to be identical, the opening credit screen isn't present, and then the main screen has an author credit that's spaced differently and doen't look quite as good. I suspect that this second version on the tape is a slightly earlier version, and was somehow recorded there by accident. There's certainly no obvious reason why it's been included.

    2. Doing the reset/reload did work but it would be better if these titles and others were saved as separate P files rather than TZX so they could be used on real ZX81s and ZXpand instead of emulators which is how a lot of us like to work. As it stands everything seems to be for emulator only.
