Tivemos excelentes notícias vindas de Steven Brown. Em Agosto, tinha partilhado connosco Inheritance. Entretanto, Richard Hallas reparou que o programa não estava completo e faltava preservar a segunda parte.
Pois Steven meteu à obra, e a muito custo, conseguiu fazer a preservação. Sabemos bem o que isso significa, pois também já chegámos a estar muitas e muitas horas só para preservar um pequeno programa para o ZX81.
Fica agora aqui descarregar Inheritance completo, o que é um verdadeiro milagre...

ResponderEliminarUnfortunately, as it turns out, there seem to be almost no differences between the two versions of part 2. Whereas there are small visual changes between the two releases of part 1, version 2 of part 2 seems only to add its own self-save routine at the very end of the listing. But nevertheless, it's great to know that the actual release is finally preserved in full, now.
Interestingly, near the end of the listing there's a message for winners of part 2 that they can now proceed to part 3 of the game, which will be available from Simon W Hessel "very soon"! (See line 9820 for the message.) I wonder if it was indeed ever finished and released, or whether it's just another promised follow-up game that never actually arrived…?
