In his Facebook Page "ZX Spectrum 80s" (here), he have streamed a few ZX Spectrum games. Some solo, some with friends remotely (over the Internet).
For example, the Formula One games on the page are played online with other five friends (the game allows for 6 players). Each of them is comfortably in their houses at night, while they play with the others. With this method it is possible to play "slower" multiplayer games like Formula One, Laser Squad, and others. But, believe it or not, it's also possible to play fast reaction multiplayer games like Match Day 2, High Noon, Match Point, 3D Stock Car, etc
He have played several times Match Day 2, with a friend from Ireland, over the Internet (he lives in Portugal) and it's very enjoyable! Also, he have identified a set of keys to minimize keyboard interference for both players (which used to be a common problem on the ZX).
He is publishing an invitation for an online tournament of WEC Le Mans (a racing game) so that people can start to try out this method of playing ZX Spectrum games online, remotely! .
2nd ONLINE TOURNAMENT 2024: WEC Le Mans 🏎
We will start a new online tournament, with several short evening sessions during the week.
- Game: WEC Le Mans
- We are requesting enrollments from ZX Fans (any of you!)
- Live streaming on Facebook
- Each session (evening) a different player plays one game try and tries to go as further as possible in the game
- Session duration: up to 15 minutes?
- On each session we register the Score and Time of each pplayer
- After each session we publish the updated Score Table of the players
- Each player has the right to run two sessions (two tries)
- The second round of sessions starts after all enrolled players complete their first try
- At the end of the tournament we will find the Winner (with the sum of scores from the two sessions, for each player)
- At the end we also publish the total Score Table of all the players/participants
